Event Policy

Event policy

We welcome questions, comments, and community dialogue from all ISSP members. We want our events to be a collaborative space; however, there are a few rules we will enforce at both in-person and virtual events.

  • Attendees must refrain from using profane or vulgar language, personal attacks, or other inappropriate content. (See definition.)
  • Copyrighted material or intellectual property of someone else cannot be spoken, shared, or posted without their permission.
  • No unsolicited advertisements. (See definition.)
  • The views and opinions expressed by attendees, members, presenters, or staff are not necessarily those of ISSP.
  • Persistent abusers of these rules will be removed from the event.

Definition of an unsolicited advertisement

If a business/non-profit/individual speaks, shares a post, comments, or direct messages in a way that encourages people to come to their business’ website or social account page, then this would be considered a solicitation and is not allowed in ISSP events. However, this is allowed when a member has asked for advice/help, and another member is replying to offer their services.

Definition of inappropriate content

Any spoken remark, post, comment, image, or direct message that:

  • Contains profanity
  • Attacks or discriminates against other attendees
  • Has inflammatory religious or political content
  • Is hateful, tortuous, defamatory or libelous
  • Promotes bigotry, racism, sexism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age
  • References or links to a for-profit third party page or website or a third party site that may be harmful or not beneficial to the community
  • Violates or infringes upon the copyrights, trademarks, privacy, property, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity
  • Includes pictures or videos that depict ISSP in an inappropriate fashion
  • Contains language or pictures that contain nudity, are sexually explicit, lewd, obscene and/or potentially offensive to other attendees
  • Hijacks a post with unrelated content
  • Promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous
  • Is unlawful or in any violation of any law
