Call for Volunteers: ISSP Programming Committee


ISSP is seeking volunteers to join our Programming Committee. We are seeking volunteers from a wide range of sectors, experience level, and locations.


Committee Overview:

The Programming Committee plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the programs of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP). We are dedicated to empowering sustainability professionals across the workforce and around the world through innovative and impactful programming. This Programming Committee will work together to select the topics and speakers for webinars and working sessions in 2025. ISSP Staff and Governing Board reserve the right to all final programming decisions.


Webinars

60-minute programming session offered via Zoom Webinar. Participants cannot speak or be on video but can interact with chat and Q&A. These sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is currently typically between 400-650. These sessions are recorded and housed in the ISSP Webinar Library as an ISSP member benefit.


Working Sessions

90-minute programming session offered via Zoom Meeting. Participants are encouraged to be on camera and engage with the presenter and other attendees. Attendance is limited depending on the topic, format, and presenter needs. These sessions are an ISSP member benefit and not open to the public. Sessions can take place in multiple formats including entire group or breakout sessions.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other committee members to brainstorm and propose new program topics and speakers for the 2025 ISSP Content Calendar. 
  • Collaborate with ISSP staff and other volunteers to ensure that programs meet the organization's objectives, align with the ISSP mission, and are feasible to execute.
  • Participate in regular committee meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and upcoming programs.


Qualifications:

  • Active ISSP membership for the duration of time on the Programming Committee.
  • Passion for helping sustainability professionals build technical skills, expand their leadership capabilities, and connect with experts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to attend regular monthly meetings and actively contribute to the committee's goals.

Time Commitment: 

  • 2 hours a month for 5 months for committee meetings
  • 2-5 hours per month to research potential topics and presenters


Location: Meetings will be hosted via Zoom.

Volunteers will be notified of selection by 16 August 2024.
