Our workshops are usually 4 weeks long with weekly one-hour webinars plus other individual or online assignments. Participants should expect to spend 3-5 hours a week. The benefits of this are many:

Climate Professional Certificate

This certificate focuses on the practical knowledge and skills to manage climate action and greenhouse gas reduction programs. Through the electives you also benefit from exposure to broader sustainability management concepts and practices. In this program you will engage with climate change experts to build the skills necessary to manage a climate action program.

Sustainability Professional Certificate

This certificate program blends sustainability concepts and practices with organizational change theory to provide you with the leadership skills and knowledge to lead a sustainability program. In this program you will engage with sustainability experts on a broad range of topics.

Successful completion of the certificate requires 5 core courses, 4 webinars and 3 electives.

The Centre for Sustainable Community Development at Simon Fraser University in Canada offers an undergraduate certificate and post-baccalaureate diploma (also available through distance education), graduate study, and a non-credit professional program designed for those already working in the field. Education is also delivered through publications, events, workshops, our website, and through project-specific programs.
